* The due date for homework 1 has been extended to next Tuesday. Couple of reasons: (1) we have not covered some materials yet, and (2) there will be no class on Jan 15 (will be made up later).—~-''<<DateTime(2015-01-12T12:43:38-0800)>>''-~ |
Welcome to Physics 5B, 2015!
No class on Jan 15 due to my travel. It will be made up later. However, there will be a reading quiz 3 (double credit issue) posted on late afternoon Thursday to help you think physics even without class!—10:02AM, Jan 14, 2015

Welcome to the second part of Physics 5!
In this course, we will continue the exploration of the introductory physics. We will start with the simple harmonic oscillator. Then, we will study waves in general. This will lead to geometric optics and related topics. Lastly, we will come back to fluids and statics. If we somehow run out of time, we might leave some topics like fluids for reading only. I like to go through the simple harmonic oscillator and waves, slowly but surely, so that we cover these supremely important topics well enough.
