| * If you click the Syllabus+ link above, you will see some new information on TA discussion sections. However, except for the Monday section, rooms are not yet determined. That page will be updated later when rooms are determined.—~-''<<DateTime(2015-01-12T12:45:17-0800)>>''-~ * The due date for homework 1 has been extended. Couple of reasons: (1) we have not covered some materials yet, and (2) there will be no class on Jan 15 (will be made up later).—~-''<<DateTime(2015-01-12T12:43:38-0800)>>''-~ |

Welcome to the second part of Physics 5!
In this course, we will continue the exploration of the introductory physics. We will start with the simple harmonic oscillator. Then, we will study waves in general. This will lead to geometric optics and related topics. Lastly, we will come back to fluids and statics. If we somehow run out of time, we might leave some topics like fluids for reading only. I like to go through the simple harmonic oscillator and waves, slowly but surely, so that we cover these supremely important topics well enough.
