- Review session summary: The only snapshot that was taken during the review session was the above one showing the sign convention for the lens maker's equation. We went over review sheet materials.
Review sheet for the final (part 2) Three minor corrections were made in this file. The most significant one is $\lambda \rightarrow \lambda_f$ at the end of the thin lens interference discussion.
Practice exam (as a pdf file). Practice exam (in the forum). Please start from equations in my review sheet, if possible at all, when you present solutions. I find some solutions difficult to understand.

Score Statistics: 69 ± 44 (out of 120).
Addition: Hooke’s law part for 1(a). Note that Hooke’s law is applicable to any spring as a whole, if the spring is uniformly deformed (as in a static sitatuaion or in a SHM). It is just that when a wave is going through the spring, Hooke’s is applicable only at the nano-scale level.—12:39PM, Jan 27, 2014

- It is planned that my updated review sheet for the upcoming exam will be provided by me, by sometime early next week.
- For the midterm, you can bring one letter size paper filled with potentially useful formulae and facts (like those contained my review sheet).
You should also bring a simple calculator for the midterm (not a graphing calculator; a smart phone is not allowed, and neither is any internet connected device).
