| The first thing that I will say is that I have tested the MP system myself, and it can be ''very annoying.'' Since you enter the answer, and then get the feedback, and sometimes it is wrong! Then, you get anxious. Annoyed. And, you can click or write almost immediately, since you want to ''get it right''! If you get it wrong the second time, you start to fume! Maybe some bad words are coming out of your mouth. You try again... You get the picture. | The first thing that I will say is that I have tested the MP system myself, and it can be ''very annoying.'' The online homework system, MP
The MasteringPhysics (MP) is a system that we will use for homework. It has certain good things and it also has certain bad things. I will try to maximize the benefit, and not get bogged down by bad things. Please try to do the same on your part.
It can be annoying, but it should not
The first thing that I will say is that I have tested the MP system myself, and it can be very annoying. You enter the answer, then get the feedback, and sometimes it says that you are wrong! Then, you get angry and anxious. Very annoyed. And, you click or write almost immediately, since you want to get it right! If you get it wrong the second time, you start to fume! Maybe some bad words are coming out of your mouth. You try again... You get the picture.
Please keep in mind that this will happen to you.
However, here is an anti-dote to this problem. Like the quiz, you will be able to get very high homework scores, just by participating, essentially. You will see that sometimes you can get some points off. Trust me that they are not worth your disappointment, at all, in the big scheme of things (midterms and final).
Grading policy
Be sure to read the grading policy carefully before you start doing the homework.
