  • During the make-up class, we discussed the interactions in a semi-classical system. We derived the van der Waals equation, and discussed the Mayer cluster expansion. Also, very briefly mentioned the pair distribution function and its implication in semi-classical statistical mechanics. Section 21.2 is the main thing that we did, and it is highly recommended for your careful reading. Also, Sections 21.6 and 21.7 are recommended for your reading.—12:57PM, May 22, 2014
