How to do the quiz?

  • Some question is a multiple-answer type (“chose all that apply”). The answer to such a question should be given as numbers written successively without any space: for example, 123 or 134.

Sometimes a small set of quiz questions are assigned to you. How do you do them?

  1. If you login to this site, then you will see a small orange box (like the one below) appearing on the upper right corner.
    • Inlined image: Selection_003.png
    • You enter your answer (like “1” or “2”, without quotation marks) into this textbox and then click Enter or hit enter.

    • Once you do this, you may get a message and the box may turn green.
    • If you submit another answer, then only the newest answer will count.
  2. You can also text your answer, from your phone, to this number:
    • 831-704-8855
    • (this number is not an ordinary phone number; it is a text-only phone number associated with a computer server, not with any phone).
    • For a single answer, your text should look like this.
         1.2: 3

Here, 1.2 is the quiz question number and 3 is the answer key.

    • You can also text all answers for a certain quiz set. For example, let us say that quiz 2 has three questions, and your chosen answers are 1, 2, and 4. The two following texts are completely equivalent ways to submit your answers.
         2: 1 2 4
         2.1: 1, 2.2: 2, 2.3: 4
    • As you can see, it is important that the quiz question number or the quiz number be included properly.
    • Any colon (:) can be replaced by a semi-colon (;). Any comma (,) can be replaced by a space character ( ), and vice versa.

    • Your phone number will be saved as an obfuscated secure hash on the server—this means that it will not be possible for a human to know the number. Only the secure hash of an obfuscated version of your phone number is used as a secure ID for quiz or other activities.
